These are excerpts from the author’s book “Deep,” which contains eight of his small books published in the form of Wisdom Literature covering different aspects of life: Facing troublemakers, dealing with pain, personal financial issues, gastronomy, reading, criticizing, inspiring, and feeling always good to go.

Series 8: Life Painkillers

Book cover

This week: The Demise of a Close Person

Symptoms: Repeating the question: Why am I still alive?

Diagnosis: The demise of a dear person.

Painkiller:

  • Breakdown is neither good for you nor returns the loss.

  • Remember that passing away is the destiny of every living creature at the same level, not only for a person close to you.

  • Keep doing what your deceased loved one liked you doing.

  • Realize and be grateful for the grace of your loved ones still living.

Treatment:

  • It is hard to digest, but it is good to remember that extinction is life’s nature, and we have no control over it.

  • You will not forget, and you should never forget. Just make sure to remember in the best way for you and others around.

  • Work carefully and intelligently to retrieve memories that give you strength and comfort.

  • From time to time, it is okay to feel as if the loss happened recently. Allow your feelings to flow spontaneously and without prolongation or exaggeration.
