Too Good and True: You Are Always Good to Go

These are excerpts from the author’s book “Deep,” which contains eight of his small books published in the form of Wisdom Literature covering different aspects of life: Facing troublemakers, dealing with pain, personal financial issues, gastronomy, reading, criticizing, inspiring, and feeling always good to go.
Series 6: Criticizing.
- Make sure that your handling of criticism, in general, motivates you to better accept life while you are trying to comment or improve on any level.
- Criticizing an issue by expressing an objecting view does not mean that you wait for compliance with your vision before engaging in participation on that level. Continuing participation at the level at which you criticize gives you a better chance of your point of view being accepted, whether in the short or long term.
- Always look at your criticism as a creative act and positive participation in life and not as a condition for accepting involvement with others after they acquiesce, agree, and endorse your vision.
- Your acceptance of life as it is does not mean that you endorse any of the mistakes at any level. Rather, it means that no problem, regardless of how big or complex, can stop you from progressing in life.
- The more you criticize life at any level with an open mind, the more you will accept it on that level and in general.
- The problems of life will not stop, nor will the actions and behavior of others that appear to you as mistakes that must be changed. It is necessary for you to adapt to all that, not only because it will not stop but also because it is relative, even to you. Much of what annoys you today may seem normal, or even preferable, tomorrow.
- One of the most effective things that helps you to accept life as it is is to expect the best from what will happen tomorrow and to enjoy and benefit from the best of what has already happened today.
- Positive criticism in any aspect of life does not necessarily mean approval; rather, it is what helps to improve and broaden one’s understanding, even if it is a rejection of an idea or an issue. When someone who criticizes and rejects is not bothered by a lack of response to their point of view, this can be seen as the ideal critical embodiment of accepting life as it is.
- Let your past experiences inspire you to accept life as it is. Ask yourself this question: did someone’s rejection and my withdrawal benefit me at various levels and circumstances in life, or was a balanced confrontation with the person more beneficial? If I withdrew, was it with complacency and surrender, or was it accompanied by positive participation on other levels?
- When you accept life as it is, it rewards you with more acceptance, satisfaction, and reassurance.
